We are delighted to welcome you to Temple Mill Primary School which became part of the Howard Academy Trust in 2015. The continuing upward trends of end of key stage results reflects the hard work and commitment of our experienced and settled staff working in partnership with governors, pupils and parents.
We are a single form entry school with its own onsite Nursery. There are 8 classes in school, from Nursery to Year 6, we have over 200 pupils on roll from Year R to Year 6 and over 30 children access the nursery provision, either full time or part time.
We are committed to the all-round development of our pupils and this is reflected through our continuing hard work on developing and enhancing our curriculum. We also source and utilise specialist teachers to enhance our provision, such as in Spanish, music and PE.
We aim to develop happy, resilient and responsible individuals who are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We have strived to create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where every pupil is supported to achieve their best. We believe strongly in the importance of a close working relationship between home and school to aid and support pupils’ progress.

Meet Wally-Waste-Not! Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor to school – Wally-Waste-Not, our local waste truck and the proud winner of the "Name That Truck" competition! Earlier this year, classes were invited to submit name ideas for the competition. After each class put forward their suggestions, Mrs Perks' Planet Protectors had the important job of voting for their favourite. The winning name, Wally-Waste-Not, was then submitted to the competition and was selected as the overall winner – meaning our school won the competition! To celebrate, the truck was given a brand-new sticker displaying its new name and proudly came to visit us at school to show it off. Throughout the morning, each class had the opportunity to visit Wally-Waste-Not, take part in a tour of the vehicle, learn how it works, and discover more about the important role it plays in keeping our community clean. The children were fascinated to see the truck up close and enjoyed asking lots of thoughtful questions about waste collection, recycling and environmental responsibility. A huge thank you to the waste management team for bringing Wally-Waste-Not to school and for taking the time to share their knowledge with us. We are incredibly proud to have named the truck and loved seeing our winning entry come to life!
Year 6 had a fabulous last week at school, topped off with, in their words, 'The best day ever!'
